On a night when most of Texas’ high profile hitters struggled mightily against Florida State’s ace pitcher Lacey Waldrop, it was junior Karina Scott who came up with the game-winning double, giving her Longhorns a dramatic, 3-2 victory over the Seminoles.
The Longhorns now are one win away from earning a berth in the Women’s College World Series, which starts Thursday in Oklahoma City. The two teams continue the best-of-three super regional play Sunday.
