The innovative DeltaWing coupe, making its race debut this weekend at Circuit of the Americas, looked promising early Friday, setting the fastest time in the damp first practice session.
But the car, which is competing in the American Le Mans Series’ top P1 class, pulled over during qualifying Friday with a drivetrain issue and had to be towed back to the garage, said a team official, who said it should be fixed by Saturday.
