The top three drivers in both Aussie V8 Supercar events Saturday said racing on softer tires and running Circuit of the Americas’ full course would provide more opportunities for passing in future races.
Tire manufacturer Dunlop chose a hard compound for the Austin 400 because it was unknown how much the tires would degrade in the heat and stress of a 27-lap race.
