Looking at the standings, the Texas Stars should be favored in their first-round AHL Western Conference playoff series with the eighth-seeded Milwaukee Admirals, a team that didn’t clinch a playoff berth until the final day of the regular season.
But even with an eight-point advantage in regular season points and winning the regular-season series against Milwaukee, 2-0, the Stars seem well aware the Admirals aren’t a typical eighth seed.
