Charlotte’s Riley Nash netted two goals and rookie goaltender Rob Madore stopped 43 shots as the Checkers stunned Texas 4-2 on Saturday night before a crowd of 6,073 at Cedar Park Center.
The game was a crucial one for Charlotte, who drew within six points of first-place Texas in the South Division of the AHL’s Western Conference with 11 games to play. The Stars (37-17-5-6, 85 points) still have the most wins after 65 games in its four-season franchise history.
