Miguel Alda carried on a family tradition Tuesday at the Class 5A tennis state tournament.
A senior at Westwood, Alda rallied to win the 5A boys singles title, defeating Frankie Colunga of A&M Consolidated 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 at Penick-Allison Tennis Center. With his victory, Alda became Westwood’s first state champion since his sister Rosalia won the 5A girls singles title in 2007.
