What has been your favorite track and field memory from high school?
My favorite memories are when I’m hanging out and messing around with all my friends at the meets.
Has track and field taught you any lessons that you apply in life?
Track has taught me to push myself to be the best I can in all that I do. It’s also taught me to keep trying and to never give up. If you work hard for something, eventually you’re going to succeed and get the results that you deserve.
Which high school class will benefit you the most after you graduate?
Since this is my first year of high school I haven’t taken that many classes, but I think the most important one so far would be biology. I would like to work in the medical field when I graduate, and in biology you learn a lot that you need to know about your body and how it works.
If you could have dinner with any four people in the history of the world, who would they be?
My very first choice would be Jesus, of course. Second would be my Uncle John, whom I never had the chance to meet. It would be amazing to see what he’s like after just hearing stories about him from my mom. The third person would definitely be Steve Prefontaine, one of the best track runners known to man. My last choice would be (pastor and author) John MacArthur, because he’s so strong in his faith with God. It would be really cool just to talk with him.
If you had the choice of being all-state in track or valedictorian of your class, which would you choose?
Valedictorian because in the long run it would pay off more. Grades are a major part to getting into a good college.
Other than family or pets, if you could save only one personal item from a house fire, what would it be?
It would probably be my iPhone because I basically always have it and am using it. Also, it has a Bible on it. So what more do you need?
I know it’s early, but do you have college plans?
My plans so far are to go to a Division I college if possible and start studying something in the medical field. I would like to run track wherever I go.
Tell me something about yourself that most people don’t know.
Around my friends and family I’m very loud and outgoing so something that most people don’t know about me is that I’m super scared of public speaking. Whether it’s just five people or a hundred people, it scares me.
What’s your favorite food?
My mom’s homemade chicken pot pie.
