The Top 10 from the 2012-13 school year
1. Madie Boreman, fr., Rouse. The first underclassmen to top the American-Statesman’s annual Top 50 list, Boreman’s high school sports debut was a stellar one. In November, she became Rouse’s first state champion when she ran to victory at the Class 4A cross country meet. Six months later at the Class 4A state track meet, Boreman set a 4A record in the 1,600 meters and won a silver medal in the 3,200 meters. Sandwiched between Boreman’s two state championships was a soccer season in which she earned all-district honors and helped Rouse to the third round of the playoffs.
