Dawson Hernandez, running back, Lago Vista: Promoted from JV during the week, Hernandez rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns as the Vikings stunned the state’s top-ranked Class 2A team, Cameron Yoe, 27-20. The Vikings, who upset No. 4 Refugio last month, rallied from a 14-7 deficit to snap the defending 2A state champion’s 20-game winning streak.
Grant Brown, quarterback, Regents: Completed 14 of 15 passes for 277 yards and four TDs in a 42-6 victory over Victoria St. Joseph.
Sabian Cannon, quarterback, McCallum: Rushed for 212 yards, passed for 63, and accounted for five touchdowns as the Knights crushed Crockett 68-14.
Reed Carlton, quarterback, St. Michael’s: Completed 11 of 20 passes for 206 yards and two TDs and rushed for 83 yards and two more scores in a 28-17 victory over San Antonio Central Catholic.
Davion Davis, wide receiver, Hutto: Caught four passes for 128 yards and a pair of scores as the Hippos trampled Connally 21-9.
Wesley Geisler, quarterback, Rouse: Making his first start at QB, Geisler rushed for 162 yards in a 29-14 victory over Marble Falls.
Tazh Maloy and Samaje Perine, running backs, Hendrickson: Maloy, who earned Player of Week honors last week, gained 277 yards and five TDs on just 11 carries in a 58-37 victory over Westwood. Perine rushed for 280 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries to help keep Hendrickson unbeaten.
Stedman Mayberry, running back, Vista Ridge: Rushed for 78 yards, caught two passes for 90 yards and accounted for two TDs as the Rangers rallied from a 21-7 deficit to defeat Dripping Springs 42-21.
Michael McCann, quarterback, Cedar Ridge: Passed for 333 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-27 victory over Stony Point.
Tyrone Owens, running back, Manor: Rushed for 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 48-41 loss to Elgin.
Da’Trean Simmons, running back, Elgin: Rushed for 156 and five TDs, including the go-ahead score with 19.9 seconds remaining as the Wildcats remained unbeaten with their victory over Manor.
