Lake Travis had a bye week after completing its 10-game football schedule last fall. In their opening game of the playoffs, the Cavaliers said bye-bye to a possible sixth straight state championship, falling to Pflugerville 23-20.
The Cavs weren’t alone in their misfortune. Last season, six Central Texas teams began the playoffs after a bye week, including four from District 26-4A. Those teams were a collective 0-6 in their bi-district matchups.
