Former women’s track coach Bev Kearney filed a $1 million lawsuit in state district court Thursday, alleging the University of Texas discriminated and retaliated against her based on gender and race.
The suit was expected, since Kearney had already filed a complaint with both the Texas Workforce Commission and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in March, saying she had faced a “severely hostile work environment at Texas.”
