The Longhorns have been a model of consistency in the past half-decade, won the national championship last year and are on track to repeat mostly because coach Jerritt Elliott is a master recruiter and the teams he assembles each season are both ultratalented and driven to succeed.
But even in a group full of alphas, a few stand out. Such is the case with middle blocker Molly McCage, who, as a sophomore, understands it’s her role to support the team’s more ballyhooed players and make her mark when she’s given the chance.
