Just when you think the SEC can’t do anything more to shine, the nation’s premier conference produces an amazing day like Saturday: five upsets, five Top 25 teams go down. On the flip side for the SEC, all five losers probably were knocked out of the BCS title picture. To recap:
- No. 24 Auburn rolled up 615 yards, 379 rushing, and beat the heck out of Johnny Football in crunch time to take a 45-41 heart-pounder from No. 7 Texas A&M at a stunned Kyle Field. Manziel, despite the physical pounding, threw for 454 yards; too bad he couldn’t play safety, too, because the Aggies’ defense was pulverized. Let’s see how the Ags respond with national title dreams dashed.
