The official narrative from the University of Texas athletic department is that former coach Mack Brown chose to resign. But school officials are going to pay Brown as if he got fired.
Brown will receive $2.75 million total over the next four years as part of a final settlement agreement between him and the school. That’s exactly what Brown was owed had he been terminated, according to his contract.
