Lost amid all of Thursday’s rumors, media reports and Internet speculation on Mack Brown’s future, the Texas football coach and his Oregon counterpart actually talked a little football.
Brown and Oregon’s Mark Helfrich shared their thoughts on the Dec. 30 Alamo Bowl matchup in a 20-minute press conference in San Antonio. Brown, in his 16th season at Texas, neatly navigated through and around questions about his status as Longhorns coach. Helfrich, in his first season, even got to answer a question or two himself.
