Longhorns notebook: Ash not practicing yet

Quarterback David Ash did not participate in team drills during the Longhorns’ practice Tuesday, leaving his status for the Big 12 opener Saturday against Kansas State uncertain.

Ash missed the Mississippi game last week after suffering a concussion at Brigham Young on Sept. 7. Coach Mack Brown said that players with concussions must be cleared for 48 hours before being allowed to practice. Team officials did not say whether Ash had been cleared Monday, which would allow him to practice Wednesday.
