Texas’ claim as “DBU” — Defensive Backs University — has added another honor to its résumé.
Jerry Gray, a two-time first-team All-American defensive back for the Longhorns during his 1981-84 college career, was named Tuesday as one of the 14 members of the 2013 class of the College Football Hall of Fame. The Lubbock native becomes the 19th Longhorns representative — 17 players along with coaches Darrell Royal and Dana X. Bible — to enter the Hall.
