Sheldon McClellan and Julien Lewis left the Texas basketball program after last season, which ended with the Longhorns finishing 16-18 and missing the NCAA tournament for the first time during Rick Barnes’ 15 seasons as coach.
McClellan, the team’s second-leading scorer, transferred to Miami. Lewis, the third-leading scorer, went to Fresno State. Barnes said changes were necessary. Neither of the two guards was happy at Texas, and Barnes was not pleased with them.
