For the past two games, their first as members of the Sun Belt Conference, Texas State had a built-in excuse for not winning: their opponents – Louisiana-Lafayette and ULM – are considered top teams in the league, while the Bobcats are new to the rigors of the conference.
That all changes Saturday as Texas State faces Georgia State, which along with the Bobcats and UT-Arlington, entered the Sun Belt Conference on July 1. Neither Texas State nor Georgia State has won a league game yet this season.
