After only a year of play in the soccer’s Premier Development League, and one game into its regular-season schedule, the Austin Aztex will host a match in the country’s oldest ongoing national soccer tournament when they play NTX Rayados in the first round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Tuesday.
The U.S. Open Cup, in its 100th year, is open to all U.S. Soccer Federation-affiliated teams, from amateur adult clubs to those on top of the sport’s food chain, the teams of Major League Soccer.
