The day before he was scheduled to compete in a local masters swim meet, Lance Armstrong withdrew from it Thursday after the sport’s international governing body said he was ineligible for it.
FINA — the International Swimming Federation based in Switzerland — issued its ruling a day after the American-Statesman reported that Armstrong intended to swim three events at the South Central Zone masters championships at the Jamail Texas Swim Center.
