UT officials warns of possible exposure to mumps on campus

Officials at the University of Texas issued an email alert to some UT students warning them of possible exposure to mumps Wednesday.

“I am writing you to let you know that you may have been exposed to mumps because a UT student in one of your classes has been diagnosed with mumps or has symptoms of mumps,” the email said.

Additional information on the disease and what to do was also provided in the email.

It wasn’t immediately known how many students received the email or when the exposure happened. University Health Services could not be reached for comment or confirmation Wednesday.
