The city of Austin wants to lease premium downtown office space for $5.6 million over four years, partly to house employees who will be moved out of City Hall to make room for the larger City Council — four more members — that voters approved last fall.
The council will vote Thursday on whether to ask staffers to negotiate and sign a lease for 28,000 square feet in the Silicon Laboratories building at 200 W. Cesar Chavez St., immediately east of City Hall.
