President Barack Obama pledged continuing help for the people of West “even after the cameras leave” during an emotional memorial service Thursday that celebrated the lives of the 12 men who rushed to the burning West Fertilizer Co. plant in the minutes before it exploded last week.
“You are not alone, you are not forgotten,” Obama said in his speech. “We may not all live here in Texas, but we’re neighbors, too. We’re Americans, too, and we stand with you, and we do not forget.”
