A lawyer for University of Texas System Regent Wallace L. Hall Jr. has asked a House panel investigating his client not to meet with state Rep. Jim Pitts in private.
In a letter Friday to the House Select Committee on Transparency in State Agency Operations, lawyer Stephen M. Ryan cited a “consistent and persistent rumor” that the panel or a subgroup plans to take testimony from Pitts in private. Pitts, R-Waxahachie, has sharply criticized Hall and authored a resolution that called for articles of impeachment against him.
