University of Texas System regents are expected to meet and perhaps vote this week on the politically charged question of whether to withhold emails and other records from the state Legislature.
The chairman of the Board of Regents, Gene Powell, asked state Attorney General Greg Abbott on Friday for permission to do just that. Powell said disclosure of certain information would impair investigations, attorney-client privilege and other board-related matters.
