In relatively subdued fashion, the Texas House gave final approval to sweeping abortion regulations Wednesday, sending House Bill 2 to the Senate — where it will pass and be sent to Gov. Rick Perry, a leading Republican vowed.
“We had a last-minute filibuster two weeks ago. We’re not in the filibuster range, and we’re going to pass this bill,” Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, who leads the Senate, said Wednesday on Laura Ingraham’s radio program.
