Three nominees to the University of Texas System Board of Regents won confirmation Friday evening by the state Senate. The vote was 30-1, with Sen. John Whitmire, D-Houston, casting the no vote.
Two of the regents are new to the board: Houston businessman Jeff Hildebrand and McAllen lawyer Ernest Aliseda. Gov. Rick Perry reappointed El Paso businessman Paul Foster.
