Texas House budget writers Thursday injected new life — or at least they hope they did — into a proposal to authorize about $2.7 billion in bonds for public university construction projects.
The Appropriations Committee approved the measure, House Bill 5, but its future is uncertain, mainly because Gov. Rick Perry hasn’t added the topic to the special legislative session’s to-do list.
