University of Texas President Bill Powers appears to have extra job security while a special state House panel deliberates whether one of his bosses should be impeached.
The Select Committee on Transparency in State Agency Operations has advised the UT System Board of Regents not to dismiss Powers and several other employees of the campus and the system while it investigates Regent Wallace Hall Jr. of Dallas. The investigation is expected to take months.
