I was dismayed, but not surprised, by the verdict in the George Zimmerman trial. To me, the issues of who shot whom, and who was banging whose head against the cement were totally irrelevant. The crux of the matter is that Zimmerman went out one night and decided to be a cowboy, and now a young man is dead. A verdict of manslaughter would have been appropriate. Mr. Zimmerman is just lucky that I was not on his jury.
