If you had tried to buy a pair of running shoes from the downtown RunTex location the past couple of years, you probably weren’t surprised when the store was evicted from its space at South First Street and Riverside Drive last month. Well before its April 4 eviction, RunTex had ceased to be a destination store for Austin’s runners. Increasingly empty and cavernous, the Riverside store had felt terminal for a long time.
