The ongoing struggle for control of the University of Texas at Austin can play either as serious drama or farce, but whatever the interpretation, it’s going to get really good now.
A bill limiting the power of appointees to boards of regents of the state’s colleges and universities cleared the Legislature and is now headed toward Gov. Rick Perry. Regents are appointed by the governor, so now, the question is, “Will Perry sign it?”
