Put the people first
Instead of portraying their toughness to pander to their base, House Speaker John Boehner and President Barack Obama need to put the well-being of the American people first. Each is entitled to his/her well-hardened beliefs, but their actions need to speak to the betterment of America. Boehner should be saying” “Mr. President, we don’t believe your health care reform is good for America and we will actively offer legislation to improve it after its implementation.” Obama should be saying: “I believe my heath care plan is good for America, but I do promise you this: I will be willing to negotiate changes that will improve the system once it is in place.”
