It takes more to do more
As a child advocate, approaching 10 years, I have seen up close the problems that Child Protective Services face. In most cases, it is not the caseworker but their “tremendous” caseload that continue to deepen stress on them and trickle down to their families. Burnout is overpowering. Within the pool of possible child care, with more flawed family structures, fewer and fewer are able to care for and nurture a family member’s child. You have a state governing body that want tax cuts, preach “do more with less” and a mentality that has little or no knowledge of what these children face. The “do more with less” is abusing and killing our most innocent, filling out courts and prisons with juvenile offenders, and causing many to feel the pain of a legislature that does not care.
