I really don’t understand why people are taking this water situation so lightly in Central Texas. I have heard someone in authority say we only have a couple more years of good water in Lake Travis without any appreciable rain. If this is correct, why are we approving new water parks in Pflugerville and Cedar Park? Where is that water coming from? I mean, Pflugerville is in stage 3 drought, yet next year they are opening a water park? How about the LCRA deal to release water to Garwood for duck hunting?
All of this doesn’t make sense. If Lake Travis cannot provide water to this area any longer, it will affect almost everyone in Central Texas. We need to get real about what is going on here. We need to ask our leaders the hard questions: What if the rains we need don’t come?
