Let’s start, as we should, with the good news about the state’s public schools.
The Texas Education Agency released new school ratings last week based on a revamped accountability system, and 92.5 percent of the 1,228 school districts and charters met the state’s education standards. Notably, 95 percent of public school districts met the state’s new standards.
