Daily Kos recently issued its breakdown of presidential results for all 435 congressional districts, and Texas distinguished itself as home to the most hostile terrain for President Barack Obama in all the land.
Obama received 18.5 percent of the vote against Mitt Romney in the 13th in West Texas, which is represented by Republican Mac Thornberry. The president did just a tad better, winning 19.6 percent, in Texas’ 11th District, which includes Llano, San Angelo and Brownwood and is represented by Mike Conaway. In both cases, Obama was down about 3 percentage points from his dismal performance in 2008. Obama’s best performance in the state was his 79.6 percent in Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson’s Dallas district, and 76.1 percent in Sheila Jackson Lee’s Houston district.
