Austin has been a place of two beginnings and one end for me.
In August of 1958, my family brought me from Big Sandy to attend the University of Texas. The trunk of the family Dodge had plenty of room for all the belongings that I brought to Littlefield dormitory. There were a few boxes, a large Samsonite suitcase that contained much of my clothing and a portable Royal typewriter.
