Fred Yazdi returned Thursday morning to the Williamson County courtroom where 12 hours earlier a jury convicted him of murder. His attorney, who had argued Yazdi shot 23-year-old Enrique Recio last year in self-defense, planned to seek probation if his client was convicted, according to a court document.
Instead, District Judge Bert Richardson told Yazdi that his sentence would fall somewhere between 5 years to 99 years.
