County Commissioner Lisa Birkman called on Williamson County officials this week to rethink the way they award contracts after two were recently given to firms that asked for tens of thousands of dollars more than their competitors.
“There’s times when we can get away with something that’s not the absolute best but still does the job,” Birkman said during the commissioners court meeting Tuesday. “We have to make sure when we say ‘best,’ price is a factor in that.”
