San Marcos Police Chief Howard Williams faced a room of reporters and cameras Wednesday to discuss the arrest of two of his officers in as many days.
Cpl. James Palermo, 40, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on charges of aggravated assault by a public servant. He is accused of conducting an “illegal arrest” and severely injuring a 22-year-old woman in May when she walked by a traffic stop near downtown San Marcos, police said.
