As more than 400 volunteers worked in flood-affected areas of Austin on Saturday, officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency toured the area to see if it would qualify for federal assistance.
Meanwhile, search-and-rescue crews pulled the body of a man who police believe might have been a victim of the Halloween floods from a creek near South First Street in South Austin. The body was found in flood debris and matches the description of a man reported missing Nov. 1, but officials with the Travis County medical examiner’s office had not made a positive identification.
