More than 2½ years after Bennie Fuelberg was sentenced to 300 days in jail in connection with mismanaging the Pedernales Electric Cooperative, a state appeals court on Tuesday ordered a new hearing to determine whether Fuelberg’s trial judge should have been disqualified.
Fuelberg, general manager of the utility for more than three decades, was found guilty of theft, money laundering and fiduciary misapplication of property. He has not served time in jail while his appeal continues.
