Michael Treviño dropped by the Mrs. Baird’s Bakery Outlet in East Austin needing what so many customers come for: a bunch of bread for cheap.
His son’s assisted living facility was hosting a barbecue for its patients. Treviño bought about 75 hot dog and hamburger buns for $6 and some change, meaning he could get another item — maybe a pack of English muffins or a loaf of bread — for free.
