State Sen. Leticia Van de Putte, D-San Antonio, on Friday took another step toward entering the race for lieutenant governor, a campaign that would make her fellow Sen. Wendy Davis’ running mate.
That means two women would top the Democratic Party’s ticket next year in the 2014 general election, a first for Texas.
