A Williamson County jury deciding the fate Fred Yazdi, accused of murder in the shooting death of a college student outside his house, failed to reach a verdict Tuesday night and will resume deliberations Wednesday morning.
Jurors sent two notes Tuesday telling state District Judge Bert Richardson they were deadlocked on questions of self defense. The jury is required to answer questions in sequential order about self defense, including whether Yazdi was justified in using deadly force to defend his property, himself or his family. Jurors asked whether they could take up the questions out of order.
