The Georgetown Animal Control team routinely handles calls about wandering dogs and stray cats. Wednesday afternoon brought their first report of a giant lizard.
Initially called in as an alligator sighting, 5-foot long, 40-pound Sumatran water monitor Sebastian Cornelius Dupree was found wandering down the Interstate 35 frontage road near Lakeway Drive after venturing away from his nearby home.
