As three Central Texas school districts look to fill vacancies for their top administrators, trustees in Hays became the first to land a candidate this week.
Michael McKie, the interim superintendent of the Fort Bend school district near Houston — the seventh largest district in the state — will take the helm at the fast-growing Hays school district, filling a position left vacant after Jeremy Lyon left last year for another fast-growth district, Frisco, north of Dallas.
