The discovery of at least six decomposed dogs strewn under a bridge has triggered an investigation by the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Department.
The owner of one of the dead dogs, Ellie Farmer, said she suspects the animals were poisoned and dumped at the bridge on Watterson Road in Red Rock, a rural community. She found the dogs on May 22 after getting a tip from a man who stumbled upon the bones when he pulled off the side of the road, and she called the Bastrop County Animal Shelter.
